Celebrating Our First National Retreat
Dear trusted friends and supporters of The Goodness Web,
A few weeks ago, The Goodness Web held its first national retreat. It was an opportunity for our donors and grantees to come together and help us build toward our next stage. It was incredibly gratifying to have nearly 60 donors from 13 states say yes to joining us. We extended just over 100 invitations for this initial pilot and, based on the positive response, we now plan to offer it to a larger crowd next year. Stay tuned!
I wanted to highlight a few important takeaways from the retreat:
Welcoming The Goodness Web's New Chief Operating Officer, Elizabeth Binder
Elizabeth Binder has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) of The Goodness Web (TGW). In this role, Binder will focus on operations, finance, and grantmaking strategy.
Binder brings over 15 years of social sector leadership and experience to TGW. Prior to joining TGW, she was a partner at The Bridgespan Group, a global nonprofit consultancy, where she advised social sector leaders on strategy, grantmaking, and operations. In that role, she worked with a broad range of organizations, including philanthropic collaboratives, foundations, and NGOs. Before she joined Bridgespan, Binder spent five years at Bain & Company, working primarily with Fortune 500 companies.
Binder has had a passion for and commitment to improving youth mental health throughout her career. She believes that transforming mental health for young people is one of the most important issues our society faces and has worked extensively with leading organizations in the field.
Announcing Our First Renewal Grant: Inseparable, Inc.
Based on their impressive track record of successfully shaping mental health legislation and driving hundreds of millions of dollars to youth mental health in states across the country, The Goodness Web is proud to award Inseparable, Inc. our first-ever "renewal grant" to an existing grantee partner at the end of their first grant period. This new award is a one-year, $400,000 grant to continue to support their widespread impact.
We cannot wait to see the great work Inseparable will continue to do for families across the country!

The Jed Foundation shared an informative summary of recent studies that emphasize implementation of the Collaborative Care Model in primary care offices and across health systems broadly. As we at TGW know, integrated, accessible mental healthcare "effectively [reduces] suicidal thoughts and attempts," and therefore saves lives.
Think:Kids’ Founder & Director Dr. Stuart Ablon joined
CBS Mornings to discuss cell phone bans in schools. While we know that technology in general is here to stay, following research and guidance on age-appropriate technology use is key to promoting the wellbeing of students, teachers, and families alike.
